Earlier in December, the Chinese MIIT exposed more info on the Yangwang U7 BEV variant, which will continue to be offered in 5-seater and 4-seater configurations with the same appearance. Dimensionally, the vehicle measures 5265/1998/1517 mm (l/w/h), with a 3160 mm wheelbase of 3160 mm, which is also consistent with the existing model.

Additionally, the powertrain is expected to continue to use four permanent magnet synchronous motors, each with a maximum power of 240 kW, bringing the combined system power to 960 kW (1,287 hp).

For reference, the current BEV variant on the market uses a 135.5 kWh Blade battery pack, providing a CLTC range of 720 km. Its top speed is 270 km/h and 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 2.9 seconds.

In comparison, the 150.01 kWh battery pack weighs 926 kg, while the current 135.5 kWh battery pack weighs 903 kg.

The BYD Yangwang U7 was initially launched in March 2025. Positioned as a “million-dollar-class new energy flagship sedan,” its price starts at 628,000 yuan (89,800 USD), offering both 4-seat and 5-seat configurations, as well as BEV and PHEV variants. The new PHEV variant was exposed by the Chinese MIIT in October.

Some notable configurations include BYD’s high-end “God’s Eye A” (DiPilot 600) advanced driving assistance system with three lidars, the DiSus-Z suspension system, e4 (Yisifang) platform with four electric motors, and a drag coefficient of 0.195 Cd. The new BEV variant is expected to continue to be equipped with these configurations.
